What Can Physiotherapy Help With?
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is treatment of any problem with the muscles or tendons, joints or bones, ligaments or nerves in the body. Our physiotherapists are experienced in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these conditions throughout the body, as well as post operative physiotherapy and sports injury rehabilitation.
We believe that your treatment should be as unique as you are, and everything is tailored to you and your needs. We see everything from to sciatica to shoulder pain, osteoarthritis to whiplash, and also help people prepare for, and recover from, orthopaedic surgery.
We also have training in Vestibular Physiotherapy. This is assessment and treatment of conditions that cause dizziness, such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Labyrinthitis or Meniere’s Disease. Our physiotherapists can work with you to identify the cause of your dizziness and help you to improve the symptoms.

The first appointment consists of a discussion about your problem, which will include questions such as how and when it started, what aggravates the pain and your medical history. We then complete an assessment, which tends to involve movement and strength tests, and touching the area in order to diagnose the pain. We create a tailored treatment plan for you, and we aim to start on some “hands on” treatment on your first session too.

If you are a new patient or an existing patient of ours with a new problem or injury, you will need a New Patient Appointment, which costs £73. This is up to 45 minutes, including time for your physio to write up your treatment programme. Any follow-up appointments cost £58 and are 30 minutes long, although we find some people need either 45 minutes or 1 hour follow-up appointments if they have a complex case or multiple injuries. These are £73 and £93 respectively. We also have the option for Sports Massage, which is £43 for 30 minutes.

This can depend on several factors, such as how long you have had the problem, how severe your symptoms are and what your goals are for recovery.
A standard course of physiotherapy usually lasts between 4-8 sessions, but this can vary widely. Someone with very mild symptoms who is just looking for some advice and exercise may only need to attend for a couple of sessions, whereas someone who has been in pain for a long time, or is recovering from major surgery may require treatment for several months or years.
What can we help with?
Our physiotherapists use a combination of hands on techniques (such as massage and manipulation), strength and mobility work, and postural re-training. We have additional qualifications in acupuncture and sports massage, which can be used to compliment your recovery.
We provide tailored exercise programmes to accompany your treatment and ensure the benefits of your session are long lasting. We strive to empower you with the knowledge and tools to take control of your condition, and prevent future injuries.
